In my career I’ve been really fortunate to have some great female colleagues, mentors and leaders. I also have a wife who is great at her job and together we struggle with the challenge of balancing careers, finances and raising a young family.
As I look around I see so many systemic barriers that mean we underutilise a lot of female talent, from women needing to prioritise workplace flexibility over career development through to ‘boys’ club’ mentalities that lock women out of senior management.
For me, gender equality is important because anything less is a waste of talent.
