Family violence does not discriminate. It affects all cultures, families, communities and societies. It is around power, control and a sense of privilege by the perpetrator.
It causes family breakdown, loss of relationships, heart ache and pain by those who are victims or witness to it.
We need individuals and communities to stand up against Family Violence and be the voice for those affected, we need the men in our communities to lead and condemn this behaviour and to hold perpetrators to account.
There needs to be hope to those affected, that people do care and that they matter.
We need a society where women are equal in a relationship without the fear of violence, so our children can feel safe within their homes, family and social connections.
It is the right of every man, woman and child to live a life free of fear and violence.
Safe Women, Safe Children.
